Industry leader Seema Verma was appointed General Manager and Senior Vice President at Oracle in April 2023. In January 2024, she was promoted to Executive Vice President and now oversees Oracle Health. Currently, she is responsible for Oracle’s clinical and clinical trials application portfolio.
Seema has earned a reputation as one of the most influential leaders in healthcare, including serving as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) Administrator. Her journey began on the front lines of public health. In her role with the Health & Hospital Corporation of Marion County, Seema worked in public hospitals, nursing homes, and community health centers, where she saw the day-to-day issues between providers and patients. This experience would serve as the foundation for the rest of her career.
She used her firsthand experience with the consumers and the healthcare system to build a health policy consulting firm, where she worked with both state governments and the private sector. With her most notable client, the state of Indiana, Seema built the Healthy Indiana Plan, the first Medicaid consumer-directed health program for the uninsured. Seema’s successes in Indiana led to her being confirmed by the US Senate on a bipartisan basis to serve as the administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Seema has earned several recognitions, including being named by Modern Healthcare as one of the “100 Most Influential People in Healthcare” in 2019, 2020, and 2024. Currently, Seema is an advisor to the board directors for TapestryHealth and serves on the board of the USC Leonard D. Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy & Government Service at the University of Southern California.
